Climate activists in Germany glued themselves to runways and roads at two airports yesterday, protesting their government's failures to draft policies on climate change.

I keep wishing we were better at organizing similar protests here in the US.

Protestors in other countries have socialized health care. Protestors in other countries have legislation that guarantees paid vacation time and prevents their being fired without cause. They have better government assistance when unemployed. They experience less police brutality because their police are better held accountable for violent acts.

The United States is a Hell of capitalists' design. We're too vulnerable to take a day off work and make our voices heard. If most of us spend one day at a protest and three in holding, we essentially put ourselves on a path to homelessness.

We sure could use a little socialism, as a treat.
